Top interview tips

  • Understand the opportunity
  • Prepare your key points
  • Don’t read from a script
  • Keep it simple

Recording a podcast with us could not be simpler as we do everything to make the process as straightforward and enjoyable for all involved.

Here’s a step-by-step guide of how we go about it.

Step 1: Homework

  • We find out about our guest speaker
  • We read up on the research or information they will be speaking about
  • We make contact with them if we have any questions

Step 2: Organise the interview

  • We agree a date and time with the guest speaker
  • We decide whether the interview will be face-to-face, by Skype or on a landline

Step 3: Brief the speaker

  • We suggest a series of questions/areas to cover for the interview
  • We explain what they need to think about (finding a quiet room, using a Skype headset, good quality broadband connection)

Step 4: Record the interview

This can be:

  • Face-to-face – we meet the guest in person at their workplace or other agreed location and use our digital recording equipment for the interview
  • Skype – we record the interview with both interviewee and interviewer using Skype
  • Telephone – we use Skype but our guest can use a landline telephone
