The Rights Track Podcast presenter and producer team of Todd Landman and Chris Garrington return to the University of Essex this week to share their experiences of turning 7 series of their podcast into a book.
Todd and Chris first talked about the idea of a podcast after meeting a few years earlier whilst working at Essex. Now they’ve been invited by the Department of Sociology’s Head of Department Pam Cox to talk about the podcast and how they developed the idea, secured funding, and went on to produce the podcast which has received nearly 40,000 downloads.
As well as talking through their work together on The Rights Track, Chris will talk about what academics need to think about if they are looking to use podcasts to engage around their research with a view to achieving impact. Todd will explain how he came up with the idea of producing a book that reflects on the fantastic conversations he enjoyed with people from many different walks of life who, like him seek to champion and advance the human rights around the world.
